Repairs

Is my laptop worth repairing?

Repair or replace? A straight answer, based on age, cost and what's actually wrong.

Usually worth repairing

Screens, batteries, keyboards, chargers, liquid damage caught early and most board faults. Board-level repair often costs a fraction of a new machine.

Usually not worth it

Very old machines that can’t run current software, or repairs that cost more than half the price of a comparable replacement.

Your data changes the maths

If the machine holds photos or work you can’t lose, getting it working, even briefly, to recover your files can be worth more than the laptop itself.

Upgrades can add years

Swapping an old hard drive for an SSD can make a five-year-old laptop feel new. It’s one of the best value jobs we do.
